Interactive Protocols
enhanced protocol 'to-do' list

OPEN’s revolutionary ‘Active and Interactive Guideline’ technologies provide uncompromising and unmatched flexibility to define, capture, require and fine tune nearly ANY clinical data element specified by an agency. Think of it as a ‘Protocol to-do list’ as Active Guidelines (AG) allows a department to specify nearly ANY clinical question along with one or more answers, defaults, sort orders, questions requiring an answer, etc. Interactive Protocols (IG) goes a step further by allowing an agency to drive one or more clinical questions based on previously answers. Both ‘AG’ and ‘IG’ can be managed with a simple, user-friendly web-based and plug-in software tool, empowering authorized staff to add or modify lists and questions and immediately deploy these changes wirelessly to each field tablet.

OPEN believes that Interactive Protocols is unmatched in the industry since unlike perhaps only complaint or impression driving some questions Interactive Protocols allows an agency to generally specify that ANY clinical element can drive other questions and answers.

This revolutionary feature not only allows field staff to document a patient encounter with tremendous detail but provides a simple user interface to actually make this process much easier and faster.

OPEN believes that Interactive Protocols is the first technology in the ePCR industry to support comprehensive protocol compliance while generally eliminating “compliance reports” such as # of Chest Pain patients (not) receiving Nitro, Oxygen, 12–lead, or number of 12-leads (not) transmitted or Intubations that did not have ETCO2 captured – because ALL of these details, for example, are required while at patient side - or the user MUST specify why they were not provided.

QA/QI emphasis and efforts can then be directed at finer tuned details of certain documentation or protocol exceptions instead of targeting poorly documented ePCR’s, which will be dramatically reduced with Interactive Protocols.

Interactive Protocols empowers an agency with nearly limitless flexibility to drive the compliance and documentation of protocols and other clinical and operational details while still offering rapid documentation and reasonable flexibility for end-users. It also has monumental, positive impacts on reducing liability exposure while expanding the ability to bill certain cases at a greater rate because of more comprehensive documentation.
